Polydata PMX composite plunges to 26.9 as whale activity hits 39-day low

Polydata’s exclusive PMX index signals a deeply risk-off market mood with volume at a 30-day low and uneven sub-index readings.

Line chart: PMX-Whale sub-index over 30 days, latest value 35.81; current reading is a 39-day low
PMX-Whale over the last 30 days. 50 = neutral.

The Polydata PMX composite index dropped to 26.9 on its 0-100 scale, where 50 represents neutral sentiment, marking a deeply risk-off mood across prediction markets. This exclusive Polydata measure aggregates five sub-indices that track different facets of market activity, revealing a fragmented picture rather than a uniform downturn.

At the center of this unevenness is the PMX-Whale sub-index, which, despite the overall risk aversion, holds the strongest reading at 35.8. However, this figure is notable for being the lowest level in 39 days for whale buy/sell balance, signaling a fresh decline in large traders’ engagement. In contrast, the PMX-Volume sub-index registered a mere 14.1, the weakest among all sub-indices and well below its 30-day norm, pointing to sharply diminished trading volume as a key driver of the cautious market stance.

Other sub-indices also reflect subdued activity: PMX-Politics stands at 32.1, PMX-Sentiment at 30.9, and PMX-Crypto at 24.6, each below neutral and reinforcing the overall risk-off environment. The divergence between the relatively higher PMX-Whale and the severely depressed PMX-Volume highlights an uneven market response, where large traders show slightly more involvement than general volume trends suggest.

This composite reading, unique to Polydata, captures the complex market mood that combines low volume with cautious whale positioning amid broader political and crypto uncertainty. The latest PMX data underscores a market environment characterized by selective engagement rather than a wholesale retreat.
