Privacy Policy

Last Updated: July 7, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Polydata (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you visit and use https://polydata.news (the “Site”).

Our Core Principle

Polydata News does not collect, store, or process personal user data. We do not require account registration, login credentials, email addresses, or any personally identifiable information to read the Site. There are no user accounts or stored preferences on our servers.

Information We Collect

Analytics Data (via Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics to collect anonymized, aggregate usage data to help us understand how visitors interact with the Site. This data is collected automatically through cookies and may include:

  • Pages visited and time spent on each page
  • Referring website or source
  • Browser type and version
  • Device type (desktop, mobile, tablet)
  • General geographic region (country/city level, not precise location)
  • Session duration and bounce rate

This data is anonymized and aggregated. We cannot and do not use Google Analytics data to identify individual users. Google Analytics data is processed by Google under its own privacy policy.

Local Browser Storage (Theme Preference)

The Site stores your light/dark theme preference in your browser’s local storage (localStorage). This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to our servers. You can clear it at any time through your browser settings.

Information We Do NOT Collect

  • Names, email addresses, or contact information (unless you contact us directly)
  • Financial data, wallet addresses, or trading activity of Site visitors
  • Prediction market positions, balances, or transaction history of Site visitors
  • Social media profiles or identifiers
  • Precise geolocation data
  • Any data that could be used to personally identify you

Note: Wallet addresses and usernames that appear in our articles are public on-chain data reported as part of our journalism. This information relates to market participants, not to Site visitors, and we do not link it to analytics data.

How We Use Analytics Data

We use anonymized Google Analytics data solely to:

  • Understand overall traffic patterns and popular content
  • Improve the Site’s performance and user experience
  • Identify technical issues and optimize page load times
  • Make informed decisions about editorial and feature development

Third-Party Data Sources

Polydata News reports on publicly available prediction market and on-chain data. This data relates to market activity, pricing, and publicly accessible trader statistics — not to our visitors. We do not cross-reference any third-party market data with our visitor analytics.

Cookies

The only cookies placed on your device are those required by Google Analytics. For full details, see our Cookie Policy.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share any data with third parties, except:

  • Google Analytics: Anonymized usage data is processed by Google as described above.
  • Legal Compliance: We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to valid legal process.

Data Retention

Since we do not collect personal data, there is no personal data to retain. Google Analytics data is retained according to Google’s standard retention policies (currently 14 months by default).

Children’s Privacy

The Site is not intended for individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect any information from anyone under 18.

European Visitors (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have certain rights under the GDPR. Since Polydata News does not collect personal data, most data subject rights (access, rectification, deletion) are not applicable. However, you have the right to refuse Google Analytics cookies via your browser settings or the opt-out tool mentioned in our Cookie Policy.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last Updated” date. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
